Beautiful spring with its lovely flowers, melting snow, bird songs, and the smell of life awakening.

Crocuses and Snowdrops are some of the first flowers to break the ice and snow.  There is something about their optimism that is truly inspiring. 

Other spring flowers like daffodils, tulips, magnolias, and dogwood appear quickly thereafter.  Kari likes to get up close (macro photography)when photographing many of these springtime beauties as in “Multiplicity (Pink Tulip) Photo.”

Sometimes she will photograph them in a way that suggests something else.  For example in “Dogwood Butterflies (Pink and White Dogwood Flowers) Photo” she photographs the dogwood flowers in such a way as to resemble butterflies alighting  on a tree branch.  In “Heat (Red and Orange Tulip) Photo” she photographs the tulip petals in such a way as to suggest flames.

Springtime isn’t just about the flowers, though.  In “Sparrow Bath Photo” Kari photographs an adorable female sparrow enthusiastically taking a bath in a puddle.  After all, what is spring without the birds?
